Sharon & Trevor | Beloved Seminar

Recently I was invited by Damian Burcher, a wedding photographer based in the Midlands, to come and give a little introductory seminar on Beloved to photographers local to him. We ended up having quite a nice turnout with people coming from further afield as well. It was such a lovely group, open to new ideas and clearly excited about how Beloved could help them with capturing authentic emotion in their subjects.

I also did a short demonstration with the beautiful Sharon and his Trevor, who both melted all our hearts. Thank you guys for being such good sports and for giving so much in front of a big group of people!

I am so happy and excited to see Beloved starting to make proper waves in the UK, and I just love the feeling that every photographer I can get excited about this interaction technique will go on to facilitate heartfelt moments for their clients, it feels like sowing little seeds of goodness into the world and getting to watch something beautiful grow.

A little peek behind the scenes

While the winter has been intentionally quieter on the shooting front, quite a lot has been happening behind the scenes at Marianne Taylor Photography. I’ve been working with a designer to evolve the MTP brand, and it’s so exciting to see it all starting to take shape. I’m hoping to launch a new website by the end of February, so watch this space, there’s going to be a whole lot of pretty coming your way! If you’re feeling too impatient, you could take a look at the new home for my personal photography in the meanwhile. It’s a little corner of the internet I built for myself in the hopes of keeping the fire burning under my personal projects. Fingers crossed.

I’ve also given my office a bit of a spruce up, including an almighty clear out. It’s amazing how much more space you can create by just being brutal and not holding on to all the ‘maybe one day it will be useful’ type of stuff. There’s still bits and pieces to finish off, but already I’m feeling so much happier in my office space. Every time I walk into it I can’t help but smile and feel inspired, and that’s what a good work space should do for you. Here’s a little sneak into some of my favourite corners of the office. One day, once it’s all finished, I might give you a more comprehensive tour.

Behind the scenes of Minna & Mike’s Beloved Session

Last week me and Steph (aka Fairy Nuff Flowers) went for a little road trip down to beautiful Dorset. The reason for our trip was a fusion shoot we’d been planning with fashion and bridal wear designer Minna for quite some time. The purpose was to see whether it was possible to combine fashion and Beloved, and from my part at least I can say that the results are even better than I hoped for! It was such a magical day. Here are some behind the scenes snaps where you can see Steph working her flowery magic, and Grace Revington creating Minna’s beautiful make-up. Look out for pictures from the session later on.
