Wedding availability – 2009 now closed for bookings

I have now officially closed 2009 for wedding bookings (I was supposed to do this aaages ago, but got seduced by all your lovely weddings!). I’ve also moved over to 2010 prices and have a brand spanking new price list to go with it. If nothing else, it’s certainly at least nicer to look at than my old one. :) If I’ve consulted with you about a 2010 wedding, and you have been given the old price list, I will hold to those prices until the end of 2009 (although you might not want to wait until the end of the year to book as next year is booking up pretty fast!). If you would like to have a look at the new price list in any case, do drop me an email and I’ll send one over.

Below is an overview of my current booking situation.

Exclusive Save-the-date designs from Under The Cherry Moon

I’m pretty excited to finally be blogging about my latest collaboration. It’s been in the works for a while, but I had to wait until the first lot of cards had been sent out, so as to not risk spoiling the impact for the lucky guests receiving them!

I’ve been offering plain folded save-the-date cards for some time now, and at some point I started designing postcard format cards, with a photo from the engagement session on the front and a design on the reverse. But I felt that I needed to offer something a bit more funky, and thus got the idea of teaming up with the uberly talented Rhiannon from UnderTheCherryMoon. I have to say that I am absolutely over moon with the designs she has come up with!

Since Becks & Andi were the first ones ever to order these new Save-the-Dates, they now get to act as the poster children for these new beauties!

There are altogether 4 different UnderTheCherryMoon designs available, which can only be bought exclusively through Marianne Taylor Photography. So in case you were wondering what fun things you could do with your engagement photos, these cards are definitely my new favourites! Do get in touch to see more designs or to ask about custom designs.

Leaving on a jet plane

I’m off to Finland tomorrow, shooting a wedding on Saturday. I’ll be on the road for most of the time so I can’t guarantee that I’ll get to read my email. So if you don’t hear back from me straight away, don’t panic or anything. I’ll be back in London on Monday the 20th and will reply to all outstanding queries then.

In the meanwhile, my 2010 wedding calendar is filling up pretty quickly (which is pretty awesome). So if you’re thinking of booking, especially for the busy summer months, I suggest you get in touch pronto.

Sample Book | Wedding

To be honest, I’ve always thought that the kind of photography I do is best displayed in a coffee table book. I find it’s a format that lets me tell the story of the day in the most efficient way, as it’s more cost effective to include a larger number of pages. I also like the idea that coffee table books are items that will get used more as they seem ‘less precious’, allowing you to get them out more often for a flick through, unlike super expensive high end albums which generally get tucked away in the bookcase, only to be taken out at anniversaries and other rare occasions. Having said that, there is undoubtedly something very special about a beautifully crafted high end album, so it was always my intention to offer the option of a more luxurious wedding album as well.

I looked for a looong time for the perfect flush mount wedding book to offer, one that would be classically beautiful, and understated enough to compliment my photography. I had a clear image in my head about what the album should look like, but it took a long time to find a supplier who’s product line came even close to the standard I was after. I finally found the perfect album – from Italy.

Album Epoca is a digital flush mounted photo album printed entirely on photographic paper, using a system that unites advanced technology with old world craftsman binding skills. Each album is hand-bound in Italy using an internationally patented continuous binding system, which allows for photos to be viewed and enjoyed without interruptions. These albums truly are works of art and I am really happy to be able to offer them.

Since, due to living so far away, Steph and Rob opted for the disc of their wedding pictures instead of a book, I always felt that it was a bit of a waste not to have their wedding in an album form. So when the time came for me to order a sample book, the decision of what to display on the pages was pretty easy make. I think their wedding pictures form a perfect union with this book, and I’m really happy to finally be able to show a physical sample of these albums to my clients in future consultations. A brochure is all well and good, but it’s really no substitute to the real thing!

The Big I Do Redo Charity Auction

THE BIG I DO REDO is the brain child of wedding photographer Julia Boggio, the notorious ‘Dirty Dancing Bride’ behind THAT YouTube video of her wedding dance, which went on to take the world by storm receiving over 5 million hits and counting. Since then Julia has appeared on television shows across the world, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, where Julia danced with none other than Patrick Swayze himself! I can’t tell you how jealous I am of that fact… dancing with Patrick Swayze used to be one of my biggest aspirations when I was a teenager. I saw Dirty Dancing in the cinema nearly 20 times and my bedroom walls were plastered with posters of him!

When Patrick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Julia decided to organise a nationwide charity fundraising event that celebrated love. As one of the UK’s top wedding photographers, Julia is always hearing her brides say that they’d love to wear their gowns again. Thus THE BIG I DO REDO was born!

Julia says, ‘I hope that this event will capture the imaginations of people across Britain. The day is about celebrating love in all its forms. Please do get involved.’

Julia chose two cancer charities to be the beneficiaries:
Macmillan Cancer Support, and Pancreatic Cancer UK, who will also benefit from the eBay Auction.

I am donating an engagement shoot for the auction. I say ‘engagement’ shoot, but obviously it’s not really that literal. Just as long as you’re a couple, and in love, I would love to capture some beautiful pictures of you together whether you’re newly engaged or already married. Please visit and place your bid here:
