Interview in Turning Pro magazine

A while back I had the pleasure of getting interviewed by the lovely Rachael D’Cruze for The Photographer’s Guide to Turning Pro, a new magazine from the people behind Professional Photographer, which is aimed at photographers who are about to embark on the journey of turning their hobby into a business. The issue is out now, and you should be able to find the at your nearest newsagent’s – if you’re an aspiring photographer I think the whole magazine is a pretty good read.

Simona & Dan in Cosmopolitan Bride

As much as the process of taking the actual photographs is enough to satisfy my creative urges, I can’t help it that after a decade of working as a magazine designer in my previous career, I always get very excited about seeing my work published in magazines. You can find a feature on Simona & Dan‘s beautiful London wedding in the real weddings section of the August/September issue of Cosmopolitan Bride, which is out now.

And on that note I’m off to Somerset for what promises to be yet another gorgeous summer wedding. See you next week!

Anna & Russ on Style Me Pretty

The interwebs has been kind to me today. First of all I started the day with the news of Anna & Chris’ Surrey wedding being featured on Love My Dress, and then, while on the M1 heading towards tomorrow’s wedding I got the news that Anna & Russ’ London tea party wedding had hit Style Me Pretty. Phew! Thank you so much girls for making my day.

Amy & Jonny featured on The Wedding Chicks

It was lovely to see Amy & Jonny’s beautiful wedding featured on The Wedding Chicks, one of my favourite wedding sites out there, yesterday. Is it just me or does everything look umpteen times prettier when it’s up on The Wedding Chicks site?

Pro Interview for The Photography Parlour

Photography Parlour
Photographer Rosie Parsons has started a new venture called The Photography Parlour, with the purpose of providing tips, advice and inspiration to professional photographers. I had the honour of being interviewed for the ‘Pro Interview’ series. Not sure whether my answers are inspiring to anyone, but it was fun to be a part of this new exciting project!

Jani in Welcome to Finland Magazine

Welcome to Finland magazine

This is really rather old news now, but it took me forever to get a hold of the magazine, so even I hadn’t seen the issue until very recently. Probably some of you may remember that late last year I flew to Zurich Switzerland on a very short notice. The purpose of that trip was to take some shots of Jani Penttinen, the founder of XIHA Life. He was being interviewed for several magazines and needed some pictures of himself to go with the interviews. Some were used in this online article, but the main interview was for Welcome to Finland magazine, as seen above. Below are a few other shots from the shoot, which I quite liked myself.

Rockin’ and rolling

The last few weeks have been very rock ‘n roll indeed. First, both Rose & Brendan’s Southwark engagement shoot, and Caroline & Ben’s gorgeous London wedding got featured by Kat on Rock ‘n Roll Bride. And now Kat’s interview in the recent issue of Sew magazine was illustrated with a picture I took of her beautiful bespoke shoes. Yay!

Features in Cosmopolitan Bride

It was exciting to see a couple of my brides gracing the pages of the April/May Cosmopolitan Bride. Eleni was featured in the ‘real bride’s beauty’ section…

…and in the ‘real weddings’ section there was a beautifully laid out feature on Magali & Jeff‘s wedding. The issue is out now, so go get it! :)

Questions & answers

The lovely Kat from Rock ‘n Roll Bride got interviewed for Aimee Marie Loves… What made it nice for me was that they had used my pictures of Kat to illustrate the article.

In other news, I’m busy trying to get the last wedding of 2009 and the first wedding of 2010 edited. Hopefully I’ll have some new pics to show you soon!

In the meanwhile, if you want to ask me anything, you can do so via this new site I’ve signed up for. Just pop your questions in the box below!

Emily & John rockin’ all over UK

I was pretty chuffed when I was asked whether my pictures from Emily and John’s awesome wedding could be used in a double feature between two rocking UK wedding blogs, Rock’n Roll Bride and Rock My Wedding. As a photographer, I tend to tell stories via the pictures I post. The thing I really like about being featured in wedding blogs is that I then often get to read the other side of the story, as told by the bride herself. You can check the features out here: Part I & Part II.

Magali & Jeff on The Wedding Chicks

Magali & Jeff‘s wedding got feature on The Wedding Chicks. I just love their blog, and their products, so I was pretty chuffed to see my pictures up there. Also learned something new about the venues! :D

Sarah & Dan on Wedding Nouveau

Fri from Wedding Nouveau wrote a really lovely feature on Sarah & Dan’s wedding. I think the way she told their story really complemented my pictures and added a lot of depth. My own blog posts are pretty slim on the copy side due to lack of time and the fact that I tell my stories via pictures, so it was really lovely to see this wedding featured in this sort of ‘full bodied’ context. Thanks so much Fri!

The Hootons’ award-winning feet

I got a bit of a surprise in the post today. From time to time I take part in competitions that the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers organises and, as it turns out, last month my picture of the family Hootons’ feet won a gold award in the ‘Family and Group Portraiture’ category. What do you know. I had no idea I would be receiving a fancy certificate for it as well, how very posh! :D Must apologise for the poor picture quality, I just snapped it quickly with my phone.

Literally right after opening the envelope the doorbell rang, and it was Sarah with baby Lucinda coming to pick up the hi-res disc from their shoot. While I was cooing over how much Lucinda had grown since our shoot, and showing her how her feet were award winning, I heard the front door close behind me. Yes indeed. There I was, locked outside, sans shoes or a phone or anything. Not my finest moment! After a few minutes of panic, I realised the security lock wasn’t on (note to any would-be burglars, it usually is!) as I’d only stepped outside temporarily, and with the help of Sarah’s slender hands we managed to break me back into the house. What are clients for eh! :D I blame the whole incident on Lucinda and her distracting cuteness. She also seemed suspiciously amused by the whole thing I must say!

And here are the award-winning feet.
