It took a little while to figure things out. When I arrived in Cornwall, bruised and battered from life’s throws, I just wanted to start afresh. Something new, something fun and full of colour. And so I built up a commercial photography business – and I’ve loved (and continue to love) every minute of it!
But for a while now, I haven’t been able to quiet the yearning inside of me, a yearning to get to witness love and laughter and photograph people’s stories again. My old brand and this site just felt so heavy, like this behemoth I’d built over the years and needed to drag around with me because of… recognition? Time put in? Or perhaps just to have a tiny toe still in other markets, so I’ll get to nip into London or overseas once in a while. But all in all, it felt like a burden and too set in its ways.
So, one day I finally arrived at a thought for a new direction. A way to offer something special, in this place that is so special to me (while still keeping this old site live for anyone outside of Cornwall). And so Cornish Love Story was born.
It was one of those things that just happens when the time is right. The website was up within a week from the conception of the idea, the wonderful Lucy Ledger Designs designed the most beautiful logo, and I’m already busy doing new sessions thanks to these long summer evenings. And to tell you the truth, my heart is bursting with happiness! Which is something I really don’t take for granted.
Do take a look around the new site, and if you, or anyone you know, has experienced a love story with or within Cornwall – do get in touch. I would love to capture as many memories as I can! ?
Just taken a look at your Cornish Love Story website, really nice, well done with it. I think as photographs it is important we focus on the areas that we are passionate about, it keeps the fires burning as so to speak. Well done with it!
