This version of your family right now, on this day, is worth treasuring.
Relaxed, natural family photography on the beaches or towns of Cornwall. No matching outfits. No stiff poses. Just your family, as you actually are..
You’ve been on holiday in Cornwall before. You have the blurry photos to prove it.
You know how it goes. Someone’s looking at their feet. Someone’s squinting. The dog was in the way. You were behind the phone again, which means you’re not in a single one.
A Cornwall family session fixes all of that and gives you something more. Not just sharp, well-lit versions of the photos you already take. Something that actually feels like your family… the chaos, the laughter, the small hands, the joyful way your children run toward the sea.
These are the photos you’ll print. The ones you’ll frame. The ones that, in fifteen years, will make you catch your breath a little.
No one is going to ask you to stand in a line.
Family sessions with me are relaxed and entirely unpretentious. I am interested in what happens between the poses, the piggybacks and the splashing, the moment one child says something that makes everyone else laugh, the way a toddler decides the beach is for eating rather than posing in.
I will gently guide you through the session so nobody feels awkward or lost. But mostly, I want you to just be yourselves. The best images always come from real moments, not manufactured ones.
Sessions are one hour, on location in and around Newquay, Fistral Beach, Watergate Bay, Crantock, and the surrounding North Cornwall coastline. Coming to Truro? I’ll be taking sessions there too, get in touch to discuss locations.

‘We first visited Cornwall in 2014. We regretted not having visited sooner as we immediately fell in love with the beautiful beaches, towns and countryside. We’ve made so many special family memories here and can’t wait to make a family tradition of spending time together in beautiful Cornwall.’
— Hayley & Lucas, the Lepola Family
NORTH CORNWALL AS THE SETTING
Cornwall does the heavy lifting.
There is a reason families come back to Cornwall year after year, and it’s not just the pasties. The beaches are dramatic and wild and somehow also completely welcoming. The backdrop alone makes images feel special before I’ve even pressed the shutter.
Some favourite locations:
Fistral Beach, Newquay: wide, wild, Atlantic-at-your-feet. The kind of beach that makes everyone feel a bit more alive. Wonderful at golden hour when the light goes amber and the whole beach glows.
Watergate Bay: sweeping, unspoilt, and endlessly photogenic. Dramatic without being inaccessible. Brilliant for families who want big, open, coastal images.
Crantock Beach: tucked away across the Gannel estuary from Newquay, Crantock has a quieter, more secluded feel. Dunes, rock pools, soft sand, wonderful for younger children who need space to roam.
Truro: if you’re visiting Cornwall’s beautiful cathedral city, sessions in and around Truro are available. The cobbled streets, river walks, and surrounding countryside offer a completely different feel to the coastal sessions.
Not sure which location suits your family? Tell me a little about your holiday and I’ll help you decide.
