Yay, finally I’m blogging Isla & Ewan’s AMAZING Scottish wedding! Sorry if I’m a bit over-excited, but I think you will see just why when you scroll down.
When Isla & Ewan originally booked me, their wedding was set to take place in Fulham Palace in SW London. A few months later I received an email from Isla asking how I would feel about flying up to Aberdeenshire in Scotland, as their wedding had been moved up to their native country due to peer pressure from people back home. I certainly didn’t have to be asked twice! I had never visited Scotland before so this change of events was quite exciting to me if anything (even if I do love Fulham Palace).
And what a wedding it was. I find it impossible to think of anything that wouldn’t have been either sublimely beautiful – flowers, handmade pom poms, Isla’s wedding gown (Pronovias from Teokath of London); or amazingly impressive – the poetic Scottish countryside, the incredible venue (Aswanley), men in kilts; or heart-warmingly touching – the cute VW van, Peter the most adorable cat, all the people in attendance (not forgetting Isla’s sweet mum who had made the gorgeous cake by the way!). The day was just perfection.
Thank you Isla & Ewan for being so welcoming and warm, and making us truly feel like a part of the family, and for holding on to us even when you decided to relocate your wedding hundreds of miles away! I hope these images will make your day justice. x
Oh my gosh, this is so lovely! Especially the beautiful details of the room and the cake. It looks like it was a really fun wedding and a lovely couple.
It was so lovely!
Oh my, wonderful work dear! ♥
I’m in love with the oh-so-scottish atmosphere (and with the cat too! Really cute!)
Now I officially need a long road trip across the United Kingdom.
Love the reception details of this wedding! The fairy light, flowers, jars of sweets… love, love, love!
And of course, beautifully captured by you :)
I love all the little details, the shoes, the matching nail polish, the flower in her hair and the pompoms! I’m amazed at the bright, light reception space with all the lighting and soft flowers. Really beautiful!
These are gorgeous! Love the green door!
I was going to tell you how much I loved the getting ready shots, then I saw the amazing stone building and detail shots, then I saw the awesome inclusion of the VW bus, then I saw how beautiful the ceremony was, THEN I wanted to tell you about how dreamy their portraits were in front of those spring flowers and moss covered tree trunks are, until I saw how much I loved the reception and all of the dancing photos. I’m sorry for the long comment, but there is no part of this that I don’t love. So, so good.
Awww! :D I can’t take full credit for it all though, that’s exactly how the wedding felt, one gorgeous thing after another!
Beautiful, Marianne… So many sweet moments))

This wedding is awesome! I LOVE your processing – looks like film with great skin tones. Love it. There are also so many awesome details here too. You should really consider submitting this to a major wedding blog, I don’t see how it would not be featured…. great work.
Beautiful! I love how you photograph the guests with so much care and attention. It really is quite unique.
I feel it’s important to try to show the couple how much the guests enjoyed themselves and how much the couple means to every one of them.

I adore that shot of them just after the one under the stone arch. Incredible work!!
I saw these on Style Me Pretty a year or so ago and fell in love with the place. Your photos made me want to get married at Aswanley and nowhere else!
