I know this is cutting it quite close to Christmas, but I finally got all my images from Venice in order so I thought I’d share. At the end of November the husband and I spent a long weekend in one of our favourite cities in the world. The weather was chilly, which was actually pretty perfect, as there’s nothing more magical as foggy winter evenings on the canals.
On the rare occasion that I travel for pure pleasure I tend to leave my digital equipment at home and bring with me something more low key and/or fun. This time around I had my beloved Holga, an Ikoflex TLR (operations of which the eBay seller described as ‘esoteric’, and he wasn’t far off!), and of course my iPhone. I mention these cameras for those who take an interest in these things, for me it’s mostly the image that matters. Hence I’m not going to point out which camera took which picture, I think those who take an interest will spot the usual suspects in any case.
Enjoy!
Edited 27 Dec: Oops, just realised I forgot to scan the polaroids I took so have added them in there.
Love these, just wonderful (as always). Magical :)
These are wonderful Marianne. I’ve been to Venice 3 times in my life but not for many years so I especially enjoyed these. I think my favourite is the last shot, it’s so atmospheric.
Beautiful how the characteristics of the camera’s add to the ‘mood’ of the image. Love them all, last two are my faves :) Merry Christmas x x
Beautiful Marianne. Makes me want to go back there.
I’m planning a trip to Venice in January and after looking at these photos I can’t wait!
You know I’ve never been? Just love these images Marianne…they alone have encouraged to get my act together & book some tickets asap!! xx
Thank you for share this… Lovely!
:)
Lovely photos! I love the ones from the residential alleyways(?), hanging clothes and all!
Beautiful;)
I like your processing.. can I ask what your primary lens?
The only ones with processing/filters are the iPhone shots, others were shot on film. There’s no real answer to the lens question when it comes to these images due to the different cameras used…
You were here!! I’m glad you enjoyed! ;)
I visited Venice earlier in the year and must say you give it a whole new perspective, wonderful colours and focus, you make it look so tranquil and almost on another world, lovely photos and keep up the great work!
Thanks
Sam (Putney)
These are gorgeous, lots of character. I’ve been to Venice once but I was very young, doubt I could have even lifted up a DSLR, let alone take some photos! I will have to go back sometime it looks lovely.
