Ok ok I know I have to finish editing Magali & Jeff’s wedding before I get to today’s shoots, but I just couldn’t resist posting these quick shots from Sophie & Henry’s engagement shoot today. Is it just me or are these two ridiculously cute?? :D
Georgina & Mark | Engagement
Mark proposed to Georgina over a picnic in Marble Hill Park, and really liked the idea of going back there for their engagement shoot. The weather wasn’t exactly picnic-friendly, and we nearly rescheduled as the sky was looking so ominously dark. Fortunately we decided to try our luck with the weather anyways, and what do you know, the rain stayed well away for once. It was one of the first days where you could definitely feel the autumn being on its way. Something about the quality of light, and the way things smell, just shifts a little bit and suddenly you get that feeling that it’s not summer any more. Never the less, the strawberries were tasty, the grass was still green(ish), and we had a lot of fun!
Ana & Alan | Engagement
A while back I donated an engagement shoot for the The Big I Do Redo, and a couple of weeks ago I finally got together with the winning bidders, Ana & Alan, for their shoot. We decided to do their shoot Camden Lock, as it’s local to where they live. Unfortunately, despite glorious sunshine all day, when I arrived at Camden the sky turned dark and it started to rain. Nevertheless, we decided to soldier on and stroll along the canal anyways. We did make the most of it, managing to dip in and out of cover between the bouts of rain and using the umbrellas as props. I have to say it’s not exactly convenient trying to take pictures/change lenses while holding an umbrella though! :D Luckily we wrapped up before the worst of it, as on my way home the skies really opened and I got absolutely soaked to the bone. Now that would have not made for pretty pictures.
Thanks Ana and Alan for being such troopers!
The fee from this shoot was donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Claire & Ben | Engagement
What were the chances that I’d get two weddings at the The Garden Museum in the same summer, both with a bride called Claire. Pretty good it seems! :D Claire and Ben are getting married next month, and last week we went for a little stroll along the South Bank for a few ‘warm up’ pictures. People often ask me what the point of an engagement shoot is. For me, it’s a great way to get to know the couple, and to get them to relax in front of my camera so they can truly trust me on their wedding day. It’s also usually good fun, and as a bonus the couple will hopefully end up with some pretty pictures. You wouldn’t believe how common it is for a couple not to have any decent pictures of themselves together, as one of them is usually behind the camera!
Claire & Ben | Sneak Peek
Here’s a little taster from Claire & Ben’s engagement session on the South Bank in central London. The weather was insane, constantly going from bright sunshine to rain and back, but we didn’t let that slow us down! More to follow…
