The Year in Pictures
Here we are again, waving goodbye to yet another year!
While 2017 was the year where the commercial side of my photography business really took off and kept me super busy, there were still lovely moments shared with Together and Family photography clients, as well as some editorial commissions and a few weddings that filled my heart with joy. Just remembering all these beautiful days and moments makes me realise that I never want to stop working with private clients completely, there’s just something so special about getting to be a part of real lives and real moments in time.

Halloween Bride in the cornfield
Happy Halloween! Here’s something in equal measures spooky and cute (I don’t really do scary and grim :D) for you. Lucie, whom I work with regularly, has been pleading for us to do a Halloween-themed shoot for ages, and finally, I relented! My only wish was that we’d keep things on the pretty side, and that’s where make-up artist Abi Murray came in. She created this gorgeous pink toned candy skull make-up for Lucie, which played on the theme beautifully without being too gruesome.
Whether you love Halloween or not, I hope you’ll enjoy this candy skull bride in her cornfield kingdom!

St Pancras Renaissance Wedding Photography
I’m so late blogging this London vow renewal and wedding celebration! I don’t quite know how the summer is already in the rearview mirror and we’re heading straight into winter. It feels like only yesterday when we gathered at St Mary Abbots for a beautiful ceremony and, afterwards, hopped onto a Routemaster that took us to St Pancras Renaissance Hotel for the Wedding Breakfast and evening celebration.
There were beautiful flowers by Lavender Green Flowers, a gorgeous cake by Abigail Bloom Cake Company, and of course the stunning Courtney, who looked amazing in her customised Amanda Wyatt gown and Emmy London shoes. Jess from St Pancras Renaissance Hotel was in charge of catering, and it was so lovely to have a mini reunion with some of my favourite vendors, the Wedding Smashers who got everyone on the dancefloor, and Gorgeous Films, who were there to capture the day on video.
Ever since their engagement shoot in Cornwall, I knew that their day would be something special, and I wasn’t wrong! Thank you so much for letting me play my little part in everything! xo
Family Session by the sea in Cornwall
We had to postpone the Michell Family photo shoot in Cornwall multiple times as it just would not stop raining! But eventually, we decided to just go for it and the sun agreed and came out in all its glory! The North Cornish coast was the perfect backdrop to capturing beautiful moments for this young family, and I enjoyed every minute of our time together!
Pretty in Pastel: multiway dresses at Enys Gardens
In August, I had the pleasure of photographing gorgeous dresses on four gorgeous girls in an equally gorgeous setting. While this was a commercial shoot, the likes of which usually live on my commercial site, I felt that the style and theme of this shoot suited this blog much better. Wouldn’t you agree?
These amazing Lavalia multiway dresses come in a rainbow of gorgeous colours and they are perfect for having bridesmaids in one colour or shade but allowing them to tie the dress in their own style! For this shoot, we chose pretty pastel shades that looked amazing in the beautiful setting of Enys Garden. We even managed to catch some sunshine, which has been eluding us most of the summer!

Brand Portraits for Creatives in Cornwall
Carrie runs Jewelbox Cornwall, a small creative business where she hand paints beautiful frames for people’s heirlooms. It was a joy to take some brand portraits for her new website, even if we were experiencing the strongest winds Cornwall had seen in a while, which made our trip to the beach a literal whirlwind!

Aynhoe Park Wedding Photography
It was such a pleasure to get to return to Aynhoe Park for another beautiful and unique wedding day. The summer weather was showing its best, and the grounds of this beautiful venue transformed into a wonderland with cocktails on the lawn and deer coming up to see what was happening. There were out-of-this-world-beautiful floral arrangements, flamingoes, unicorns and plenty of laughter. Thank you once again Aynhoe for providing such a perfect backdrop for celebrating love!
Cliffside Engagement Session in Cornwall
Technically, these two cuties are already married, but because of the timing of their nuptials, they didn’t have an opportunity to arrange a proper wedding party until now. While the ceremony on the day will be called a Vow Renewal, the day is most definitely a genuine wedding day for them and their family. They even travelled down to Cornwall for their engagement session, which I couldn’t have been happier about!
These two are possibly the sweetest couple I’ve ever had the pleasure of spending time with, and I can’t wait for their London wedding day in just a few weeks!
Model portfolio session: on the beach with Maisie
A warm July sunset, Crantock beach in Cornwall… could there be a lovelier setting for a model portfolio shoot. We managed to cram in two different outfits and plenty of giggles into this quick session with Maisie.
Countryside Summer Wedding at Soho Farmhouse
It felt like such a long time since Anne & Archie’s London engagement session, but when their beautiful countryside wedding day at Soho Farmhouse finally arrived it was certainly worth the wait! The day started in such an idyllic setting, with the girls getting ready at the cutest cabin where Gemma Sutton was in charge of hair & makeup. When Anne got into her exquisite Mira Zwillinger wedding gown and put on her Aquazzura wedding shoes, there was not a dry eye in the room!
A horse-drawn carriage took the bridesmaids to the ceremony before returning with Anne’s father on board to fetch her. The perfect summer day added to the atmosphere of the most picturesque day in the country.
The reception, organised and catered by Soho Farmhouse, continued the summery theme. Anne’s home country of Norway was incorporated into the look of the floral decorations and the traditions (such as getting the bride & groom to stand on a table and kiss at the clink of a glass!), making the whole event feel like a real life midsummer’s dream. I have to also give a shout out to The London Essentials, who were truly amazing, entertaining the guests with their music in their own energetic interactive way. Definitely a hit with the crowd!

Enchanting Elopement Wedding in London
Both Milla & Nelo’s families live far away from their home in London and trying to arrange a big wedding that would bring everyone together just seemed like a too stressful task, so the couple decided to ‘run away’ and get married without telling anyone in advance!
I really do enjoy elopement weddings because there’s a certain sense of adventure and spontaneity about the proceedings. The day also lets the couple concentrate all their attention on each other, instead of worrying about the million tiny details that go with organising bigger weddings.
I loved playing a small part in Milla & Nelo’s intimate day, it definitely feels like a huge privilege to be in on such a massive secret! Seeing how in love these two are, I don’t think their family and friends can deny their day was perfect – for them. I’m sure there will be a party of some sort to celebrate with nearest and dearest at some point to make up for it!

The weather couldn’t have been more glorious for this model portfolio session on Crantock beach in Cornwall with Libby. That’s what I call a blue sky!

Springtime Family Session in London
It’s that time of year when I get to make frequent trips to London, both for weddings but also for sweet Family Sessions like these. I’ve photographed Marie & Jens a couple of times over the years, but this time was made super special by the addition of little Oscar. We had to do some serious cajoling to get this little man in the mood for photos, but when he did… well, just look at that adorable smile!
I would also like to thank the kindly pigeons of St James’ Park for their assistance in ‘operation smile’. :D
London Southbank Family Session
It was so much fun popping into London to meet up Sirpa & Timo (whose elopement I shot allll the way back in 2011!)  and spend some time documenting them on the South Bank with their son Sami. I love catching up with old clients and hearing about what’s happening in their lives. It also feels super special to get to capture new important moments for them to treasure in the form of a family session.
The weather might have been a bit drizzly and grey, but it sure didn’t dampen the smiles!
Garden wedding in Cornwall
I can’t quite express how much I love photographing weddings local to me. I moved to Cornwall for its immeasurable beauty and relaxed lifestyle, and Cornish weddings tend to reflect these very same qualities.
Tara & Simon got married in a beautiful marquee on the lawn of their own house in St. Ervan in North Cornwall. The day started in Tara’s own bedroom, with getting her hair & makeup done by the Pop Up Salon, before stepping into her Jimmy Choos and beautiful Claire Pettibone gown.
The morning looked a bit overcast and gray, but after the ceremony at St. Ervan Parish Church the sun broke through and brought with it the most beautiful golden evening. The simply stunning marquee by LPM Bohemia was beautifully decorated with flowers by Ginny’s Flowers, while Emma Easdon from Cornish Bluebird made sure things ran on time and Jack Bristow was in charge of catering all the delicious Cornish food.
While music from Mountain Ash mingled with the excited chatter inside the marquee, and the early spring sun stretched its beams over the beautiful countryside, I couldn’t help but feel like I had the best job in the world.

Editorial Portraits : sunset surf
A sure sign of summer approaching Cornwall is when the evenings get longer and it’s warm enough to pop out for a sunset surf under a perfectly pink sky. This shoot felt like blowing off of the cobwebs of winter, and feeling alive again! Just how amazing is that sky?

Tara & Simon : A Cornish Together Session on the Beach
Ah, Cornwall in the Spring! In the beginning of March, I got to spend some time with Tara & Simon, who are getting married next month at their beautiful house in North Cornwall. The couple wanted their engagement session to take place on their local beach (how amazing is it to live in a place where you have a local beach, or five!), so we headed down to Constantine Bay.
To me, there’s really nothing better than a walk on the beach smelling the sea air and listening to waves crashing in. Needless to say, I enjoyed every minute of this session!
I can’t wait to see these two tie the knot in just a month’s time, it’s going to be a good one!

The Year in Pictures
I know, I know, I’m a little bit late with this whole ‘2016 favourites’ post, seeing that we’re suddenly in February already! But hey, better later than never eh? Last year I concentrated mostly on building the commercial side of my photography business, but I still managed to fit in some pretty portrait, couple and family sessions, and even the odd wedding!
This year I’m hoping to shoot more and more down here in Cornwall (It’s just too gorgeous here to ever leave!), but I do have some fun things booked in for London as well. Anyways, without further ado, farewell 2016, you were quite challenging in many ways, but clearly, you also provided some utterly beautiful moments!
