A little sneak peek from Anna & Andrew’s beautiful Colchester wedding at Layer Marney Tower last Saturday. Stay tuned!

Helen & Tom | Engagement
Helen is one of those very organised brides who booked me for her and Tom’s May wedding well over a year ago. She came to our first meeting with a thick stack of printouts for me, with information and pictures of all her wedding venues and plans. I love that! It’s so nice to share in on the excitement of the planning stages, and really get a feel for what the couple wants their big day to look like.
It was so nice seeing Helen and Tom again after such a long time. We did their engagement shoot in the beautiful gardens of Hampton Court Palace and the weather really couldn’t have been nicer. And even though Tom was absolutely dreading the experience, he proved to be a real natural in front of the camera!
Really can’t wait for the wedding now, I’m pretty sure it will be lots of fun!
Jani in Welcome to Finland Magazine
This is really rather old news now, but it took me forever to get a hold of the magazine, so even I hadn’t seen the issue until very recently. Probably some of you may remember that late last year I flew to Zurich Switzerland on a very short notice. The purpose of that trip was to take some shots of Jani Penttinen, the founder of XIHA Life. He was being interviewed for several magazines and needed some pictures of himself to go with the interviews. Some were used in this online article, but the main interview was for Welcome to Finland magazine, as seen above. Below are a few other shots from the shoot, which I quite liked myself.
This one of Jani with his family was published in an interview with a Finnish tabloid Ilta-Sanomat at the end of last year.
Sarah & Paul | Wedding
What made Sarah & Paul’s Andaz Liverpool Street wedding a little bit different from the others we’re doing there this year, was that their ceremony was held at the OBE Chapel of St. Paul’s Cathedral. I felt very privileged being able to photograph a wedding at such a prestigious venue, and despite the challenges it presented (the Chapel is underground in the crypt with no light, and photography during the ceremony is restricted) it really was an amazing experience!
I love the Gallery at the Andaz, the light there is always so lovely, no matter what time of year. It’s also fun to see how different spaces within the hotel transform to serve different functions. For example, Sarah & Paul’s wedding breakfast took place in the Bishopsgate room, which looked completely transformed from last time when we where there for a ceremony.
I do have to mention that Susanna was on fire during the reception of this wedding, she got so many lovely shots that I had a hard time narrowing the selection down! I think after the long dark winter of her being consigned to lighting duties during receptions, she was seriously itching to get behind the camera – and it shows.
Lastly, I have to say thank you to Sarah and Paul. It was a priviledge to be a part of your beautiful day!
Rubbina & Louis | Engagement
Here are a few shots from Rubbina & Louis’ South Bank engagement shoot from a few weeks ago. Despite the lovely sun, the temperature on the day plummeted due to the freezing wind, and I don’t think any of us could feel our fingers by the end of the shoot! But we did still have a good time, which is all that matters. Fingers crossed that was the last properly cold day of the winter. I’m really looking forward to seeing Rubbina & Louis again at their wedding, hopefully in much warmer conditions!
